I told myself that I should not blog again, until something Really turned me on. For that, today has been a banner day. First was the Jewelry Fair where I bought Illusions‘ Cord Jewelry. Then I got the group notice from [][]Trap[][] with pics of their new Hakama pants. These are awesome and I’ve been looking for something like them for ages.

I love these Drude Ears from ElfPyre, by Daarc Dagger. Daarc was having a special give away at her shop today and this is one of the skins she was randomly giving to visitors. I asked her if she planned on putting it up for sale and she said, “Well, I MIGHT be selling them, I do really like the makeups I ended up doing, so in the future it’s a possibility. I haven’t quite decided yet.” I really love it when people keep SL in perspective like hard and fast it if you feel like it.

Katat0nik Pidgeon has released new, white versions of her “Alice” dresses. In the pic above, Azia is wearing the bloody Alice dress. These dresses are a limited edition release, only available through the month of August. This week, during the Fairy Tale event hosted by Total Betty, you may purchase them from the little shop which Kat has set up in the Old Shoe. Once this event has closed, you may find them at Katat0nik’s main location through the end of the month. But once August is over, they’ll be gone forever!

The adorable pig-tailed hairstyle with bead and heart barrettes is one of Exile’s newest releases, named Lolita. It comes with two barrette styles and a cute little heart sticker for your cheek.

This almost innocent Vampire skin is DEN-DOU’s offering for the Creator’s Stamp Rally, Summer 2009 event. If you’re not familiar with the CSR events, their informative web site explains how to participate in the event and has pics of the prizes available.

Back Again

A couple of friends have asked why I haven’t posted in a while. Yeah..I know they’re the only people who read this blog. 😛 And they already know what I’ve been doing for the past couple of weeks. So before they start thinking I’m a slacker, here’s a post about something which I was thrilled to get the group notice for.

This is Misty, one of the two new skin lines from League. Nena Janus is well-known for her extraordinary talent but damn..these are awesome skins. From the soft makeups and gorgeously defined collarbone to the shadows contouring the knees and hands, I think I like these best of all the new skins I’ve seen lately.

There are 4 skins per makeup; bald, bald with enhanced breast shading, shear-headed and shear-headed with enhanced breast shading.

Is there something I would want differently about them? More skintones. This is the Medium tone and it is the lightest currently available. But it is darker than what my avatar normally wears. I’m hoping that the term “Medium” is an indication that there will be lighter shades in the future.

So what have I been doing? Well, I got a year older (but let’s not discuss that at length). I’ve been involved in a couple of projects in two of the other three online games I play. And I’ve written a couple of articles for a soon-to-be-launched SL magazine. details yet. I’m just going to tease!

Skin: League – Medium – Misty – Smoky
Eyes: Plastik – Mischa-vi
Hair: Maitreya – Dylan – Kala Jeera

Necklace: Exodi – Antique Sterling Locket
Blouse: Dutch Touch – Tube Top Pale SteelBlue

Friday Night Fun

•June 20, 2009 • 1 Comment

It was Friday night and not much going on until Bho says “Hey, come talk while we take pictures!” and I say “Sure!”. Machang was on the pose stand and we talked about clothes and food and guys..all the stuff girls talk about. Then we all put on this new hair which Machang made for AOHARU. We decided it’s “Mary Kate” hair (but it is named “Lauren”), so we lit cigarettes and pretended to get drunk and bitchy. Then I said “Hey, let’s all go to the Hair Fair!”. But Machang was sleepy so she went to bed to dream of cinnamon rolls. (nomnom)

Bho and I scribbled on the sidewalk at Creve Coeur (we like it there) for a while. Then we went back to the gypsy camp and dressed up like bald, tattooed, space aliens. Bho found Waverly and off we went to HF09..and miraculously, got in!

I, promptly, got lost. But Tek found me and showed me his new hairs. He’s on an aquatic kick right now which I really love. We talked about Louisiana Crazy, Absinthe and Arkham. Then I went to sleep. Here’s pics of his latest amazing styles from Tekeli-li Dark Artistry.

Nixie, which is Tek’s Hair Fair gift, just look for the treasure chest at his booth. Also in the chest are Chained Crystal Earrings, Crystalled Hairsticks, Tiny Faeryfish Pets and a Small Metal Treasure Chest.

Anemone, which moves in incredible ways.

WOW! All are worn in the above pics with the Aether skins from Nomine, which are on sale for a few more days along with the rest of the specialty skin lines.

Life After Death

•June 13, 2009 • 2 Comments

Last night, Nocturne Modelling Agency presented a most amazing fashion show. Now..most shows are pretty cool, in their own right and I’ve had the great fortune to participate in some really nice ones. But this one, entitled “Life After Death”, featuring clothing designs from Blue Blood and The Black Canary with jewelry from Little Boy Blue was an event which I won’t soon forget.

The set by Omaire Abattoir, Ravyn Hynes and Anicia Medici was simply breathtaking. The audience entered a delapidated Gothic theater, lit only by candlelight. The seating, surrounded by ornate railing, overlooked a cavernous stage of swirling water which separated the viewers from an imposing harpsichord, perched upon boulders, as though it might reside there for eternity.

The models entered into view riding gondolas, festooned with cream-colored roses and ribbons, built by Macio Michalak and Morrigan Denimore. The gondolas’ movement was brilliantly scripted by Vaalith Jinn.

The lovely, Ryder Foxdale was our Mistress of Ceremonies and music was provided by Gecko Gorilla. The show spanned the Pulse and Sn@tch City sims, owned by Ivey Deschanel and Roblem Hogarth, who were wonderfully accomodating and helped tremendously to keep the production going. My thanks to Nocturne Modelling Agency Director, Voshie Paine, for allowing me to participate in this event.

Here, I’m wearing Lovebound, by Morrigan Denimore for The Black Canary. Lovebound has been one of my favorites of Mister Morrigan’s designs since its release. This picture shows a bit of the gorgeous roses decorating the gondolas.

Isabella is by Ghanima Uriza of Blue Blood. It is a rare treat for me to wear such a sumptuous gown. This was my first opportunity to meet Ghanima and she was absolutely charming.

Here is a closer look at the lovely Amauera ring and earrings by Tomoyuki Batra of Little Boy Blue. The last picture shows the Ullu’me Fuin wedding ring set, also from Little Boy Blue. My photography skills cannot do them justice. Tomoyuki’s artistry is amazing. I have been truly honored with the opportunity to wear his designs for a show.

The delicate “Claire” jewelry set is MoonMaiden Horner’s contribution to Vendor Support Month on behalf of her shop, .:Moon Dance Designs:.. I like how the petals seem so fragile, yet the pieces are of substantial size. The textures are beautiful and the color is perfect with my (almost) new gown from Evie’s Closet. “Claire” is available for $10L for the month of June.
